- My kids and husband are Sephardic, so they are also Spanish. I know thye specifically asked ...so does that make them Hispanic in their calculations even though no one has ever set foot South of the border except for Los Cabos. Watch those statistics people.....

- First of all, I am pro-choice. Having said that the only "pro-lifers" I have any intellectual respect of are for those who believe that a child should be born regardless of its conception.

- Actually it was pretty evident in the NYC "social studies" program too. We went for the Sumerians, to the Ottoman Empire (an amazingly tolerant Islamic Empire) to something out of a Peace to End All Peace.

- Well, I don't think about this at all. We will all find out when we die - so stop obsessing over it while we are alive. Live a good life, and if the pearly gates exist, you may enter. If they don't, well at least someone will show up for your funeral.

- Get off the language kick. It takes a full three generations for every immigrant group to stop speaking Spanish and stop reproducing in groves. Many of you posting probably had grandparents that came from large families. My mother-in-law had eight uncles.
